Understanding Package Tracking Statuses
When you track a package, the system returns a delivery status that tells you exactly where your shipment is in the delivery process. Here is what each status means.
Info Received
The shipping label has been created and the carrier has received the shipment details electronically. The package has not yet been physically picked up or dropped off at a carrier facility.
In Transit
Your package is on the move. It is being transported through the carrier’s logistics network, which may include sorting facilities, distribution centers, and transit hubs. This is the most common status for active shipments.
Out for Delivery
Your package has reached the local delivery facility nearest to the destination address. It has been loaded onto a delivery vehicle and will be delivered today during normal delivery hours.
Delivered
Your package has been successfully delivered to the destination address. The delivery was confirmed by the carrier, sometimes with a signature, photo, or GPS confirmation. If you have not received the package, check with neighbors, building management, or any safe location the carrier may have used.
Exception
An issue has occurred that may delay delivery. Common exceptions include failed delivery attempts, incorrect or incomplete addresses, customs holds for international shipments, or weather-related delays. Contact the carrier directly if the exception persists for more than 48 hours.
Expired
Tracking information is no longer available for this shipment. Carriers typically retain tracking data for 30 to 120 days after delivery. After that period, the tracking number will no longer return results.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this tracking service free?
Yes. Our package tracking service is completely free to use. There is no registration required. Simply enter your tracking number and get instant results.
How many carriers do you support?
We support over 1,700 courier services and postal carriers worldwide, including FedEx, DHL, UPS, USPS, Royal Mail, China Post, Australia Post, and hundreds of regional and local carriers.
How accurate is the tracking information?
Our tracking data comes directly from the carrier’s system in real time. The information you see here is the same information available on the carrier’s official website. Updates typically appear within minutes of a scan event.
Why is my tracking number not working?
There are several reasons a tracking number may not return results. The most common reason is that the carrier has not yet scanned the package — this can take up to 24-48 hours after the label is created. Double-check that you entered the tracking number correctly with no extra spaces. If the shipment is very old, the tracking data may have expired.
Can I track international packages?
Yes. Our tool supports international shipment tracking across all supported carriers. For international packages, tracking updates may pause temporarily while the package clears customs in the destination country.
Do I need to know which carrier is delivering my package?
No. If you are not sure which carrier is handling your shipment, simply skip the carrier selection step. Our system will attempt to auto-detect the carrier based on your tracking number format.
How often is tracking information updated?
Tracking information updates every time the carrier scans the package at a checkpoint. This typically happens when the package arrives at or departs from a sorting facility, clears customs, is loaded for delivery, or is delivered. Most carriers update tracking data multiple times per day for active shipments.
