TNT Tracking Statuses Explained
When you track a TNT package, you will see one of the following delivery statuses. Each status indicates a different stage in the shipping process.
Info Received
The shipping label has been created and TNT has received the shipment information. The package has not yet been picked up.
In Transit
Your package is on its way. It is moving through the TNT network and may pass through multiple sorting facilities.
Out for Delivery
Your package has arrived at the local delivery facility and is on the delivery vehicle. It will be delivered today.
Delivered
Your package has been successfully delivered to the destination address.
Exception
An unexpected issue has occurred during delivery. This could include a failed attempt, customs hold, or incorrect address.
Expired
Tracking information is no longer available. This typically happens after 30 to 120 days.
Common TNT Tracking Problems
Having trouble with your TNT tracking? Here are the most common issues and how to resolve them.
TNT vs FedEx tracking
Since FedEx acquired TNT, some shipments may track on both TNT.com and FedEx.com. Try both sites if one doesn't show results. New shipments increasingly use FedEx tracking.
Depot collection required
If delivery wasn't possible, the package may be held at a TNT depot. Check the notification for the depot address and collection hours.
European road transit delays
TNT road express shipments between European countries may be affected by border procedures, strikes, or weather. Allow 1-2 extra days during disruptions.
Customs charges on European shipments
Post-Brexit, shipments between the UK and EU may incur customs duties and VAT. TNT/FedEx will notify you of any charges before delivery.
TNT International Shipping & Customs
TNT provides full customs brokerage for international shipments. Within the EU (excluding UK post-Brexit), no customs duties apply. For non-EU destinations, duties and taxes are calculated based on declared value and commodity code.
Shipping Restrictions
TNT/FedEx restricts shipment of hazardous goods (requires proper classification), firearms, perishable items, and items exceeding weight/dimension limits. Maximum weight varies by service and destination.
