Common GLS Tracking Problems

Having trouble with your GLS tracking? Here are the most common issues and how to resolve them.

Parcel at GLS ParcelShop

If delivery wasn't possible, the parcel will be at the nearest GLS ParcelShop for 7 working days. Check the notification for the shop address.

Tracking not updating between countries

When a GLS parcel crosses borders, it may transfer between different GLS country organizations. Tracking updates may pause for 24-48 hours during transfer.

Delivery time window missed

GLS FlexDeliveryService allows you to redirect the parcel or choose a new delivery date. Use the link in the GLS notification email.

Parcel damaged

Report damage to GLS within 7 days. Document the damage with photos. The sender must file the claim as they are the contracting party with GLS.

GLS International Shipping & Customs

Within the EU, no customs duties apply. For shipments to/from non-EU countries, customs clearance is required and duties may apply based on the declared value and goods category.

Shipping Restrictions

GLS restricts shipments exceeding 40 kg per parcel. Prohibited items include hazardous goods, live animals, weapons, and perishable goods. Maximum parcel dimensions are 200 cm in length and 300 cm girth.
